1973 Triumph GT6
Fantastic little GT6 coming out of long term storage with a fairly extensive recommissioning., In the same family since 1992, the car was transferred from father to son in 2001.
The son then took a short term contract in the USA in 2007 that in the blink of an eye became 18 years. As an ex-employee of Lotus, he knew what he was doing when he parked the car in dry storage and it’s condition is a testament to his care.
It was fully restored prior to storage with a photographic file available showing the work.
The motor was fully rebuilt to 2.5 and flies along!
A rare opportunity to bag an ever popular classic car in honest condition and with matching numbers.
The car was finished it its original Mimosa Yellow. The chassis itself was painted a slightly different yellow but is the original chassis. The interior remains original and has lasted incredibly well with the 102,000 indicated miles believed to be genuine.
Car was rebuilt in 1999 and included new quarter valances, inner and outer sills, front wings and inner wings, doors reskinned (inner and outer) plus new hinges, inner wings and rear wings, boot floor.
Interior received new headliner, sun visors, carpet set, seat belts, door cards front and rear and all rubber seals, The front seats were reconditioned.
In 1999 the engine was rebuilt and has done very little miles since. It included carbs reconditioned, complete motor rebuild with new gaskets, core plugs, crank reground, new bearings, cam chain replaced, new cam sprockets and a new rad. Servo brakes installed. All bushes bolts replaced throughout. New front trunnions. Rear transmission overhauled, new clutch and reconditioned gearbox. New UJ joints for prop shaft and half shafts, New rear leaf spring.

The engine was rebuilt prior to long term storage and she runs like a top!
There are plenty of old receipts, MOT certificates and a fully documented restoration thumb drive with the car.
After long term storage following restoration, the faults are few. There are two bubbles under the paint - one of the roof front lip and one on the NSF wing. These are the only areas of note on the entire car - body or chassis. Mechanically it runs great although there is a slight noise from the clutch release bearing.
