1983 VW Golf GTi MK1

A rare chance to buy a car from me still at project stage! After selling out over Christmas and New Year I need to refresh stock with some up and ready vehicles. This 1983 MK1 GTi finished in one of the best colours (Lhasa Green) is available at a discounted price, sold as it stands as a (mainly) mechanical refresh project. It’s a great base to work from having been dry stored for 20 years! The only rust repairs needed so far appears to be a couple of patches on the driver sill and another on the rear valance. The car has only had seven owners, which for an 80’s Hot Hatch is remarkably low and it shows. It’s incredibly straight and the paint job for which there are receipts in the folder has held up very well, save for an area of lacquer peel on the roof. But be under no illusion, this is a project car but a very light one. It starts up and runs and sounds very healthy but will need a service. Interior has been retrrimmed in black leather and red piping and the black headliner is in great shape. Tinted green glass is a nice touch and it has a few Campaign bits including, of course, the wheels with the rare embossed centre caps. Stacks of paperwork and history, none in the last 20 years of course due to storage. Lots of previous MOTs that back up the mileage (190k) and the last owner even saved his purchase receipt from when he bought it back in 1999! Aftermarket bits I’ve noted included back box, a fancy manifold and a lower strut brace. Best thing would be to come and view it - available any time.
