VW Beetle 1200 Deluxe
People talk about rare opportunities, but those people haven’t sat in this survivor 1961 Bug. If you’ve been around VWs long enough you’ll know when a car just has the look and the feel. This one even has the smell.
1961 1200 Deluxe
LHD Norwegian import
Mostly one lady owner (Annie Skalstad from Konsberg in Norway. She parked the car up in 1981 and it was sold by her grandson after she passed away)
95% original paint (localised repair to lower OSR quarter)
Textbook example of true patina
All windows - including windscreen - VW stamped
Original interior except for replacement carpets
Original matching numbers engine confirmed by VW Birth Certificate
Still running 6v with zero problems in modern life
No rust-throughs or any areas of concern at all
Engine runs sweet and has recently had valves adjusted
So many original VW parts present on the engine!
Rebuilt OG distributor
Rebuilt OG fuel pump
Rebuilt OG dynamo
Steering is light, engine is responsive and the suspension is smooth like butter. This is possibly the closest thing you’ll experience in 2024 of how a Beetle felt in 1961.
With a sympathetic eye on the current aircooled market, this is a fantastic opportunity for you to bag a piece of Wolfsburg history for just £10,950
Available for viewing (highly recommended!) any time at Fremont Classics, Taunton TA3 5EH
