2000 Porsche 911 (996) Cabrio C4
One-owner Porsche 911 (996) Carrera 4 manual.
The car has been parked on the owner’s driveway for the last 8+ years.
£2,500 was spent at Porsche Centre Exeter in 2013, just prior to it being laid up. The fuel rail has since been replaced due to a leak, which was most likely the reason the car was taken off the road.
The car will require recommissioning before road use and MOT and is being sold as an ongoing project.
It is currently rolling on a mint set of 997 wheels with fresh Bridgestones purely to make it mobile. PLEASE NOTE: It will come with its original factory-specified 18” Turbo wheels; tyres are perished and the wheels will require refurbishment.
The 997 wheels can be negotiated separately.
There is some early service history present. Later in life the car was serviced by the owner’s local garage, with limited paperwork retained.
Mileage is 107,392. At the last MOT the mileage was incorrectly recorded — the inspector should probably have gone to Specsavers.
Included in the paperwork is the original sales invoice showing a total purchase price of £73,790, which equates to well over £160,000 in today’s money — more than the current equivalent model.
The car was also specified new with the factory hardtop, which is included and still in its original Porsche dealer storage cover. Unfortunately storage hasn’t been ideal and there is corrosion to the lower corners, but otherwise it is in very good condition and appears never to have been fitted.
This is a very affordable, running 996, but please study the close-up photos carefully to assess condition. In particular, the interior A-pillars and header panels have suffered from long-term outdoor storage. Seats, carpets and door cards, however, remain in very good condition.
There are warning lights illuminated relating to the roof (which does not currently operate), brakes and airbag. There is no EML. I have not attempted to open the roof manually.
Absolutely worth bringing back up to standard, especially given the one-owner provenance and exceptional original dealer paperwork.
